she could have nausea, headaches, and breast tenderness due to the estrogen in the pill. Lower back pain is not a side effect of any birth control. She should continue with the pill for 3 consecutive months so her body can adjust. If the side effects continue then she should ask to be switched to a lower dose pill like Loestrin24Fe. It has the same components as FemconFe but a lower amount of estrogen (20mcg.)
I have been experiencing the same effects aas your daughter. I'm a college student and one day I was on my way to class, then suddenly it felt like i had to throw up. I went to the nearest bathroom but nothing happened. My breasts hurt constantly and I had gotten Bacterial Vaginosis. Its like a yeast infection but different. My discharge is mucusy and I have headaches all the time. Oh and I have back pains too.
My doctor put me on Fencon Fe to treat an ovarian cyst but since day 3 of taking these pills, I have been VERY sick. I have been extremely nauseated, felt as though I were getting a UTI, had a constant headache, and this morning I can't even stand for 10 minutes without feeling as though I am going to pass out. I am only on my second week of these pills. The cyst pain was much easier to tolerate than these awful side effects. I will not be taking Femcon ever again.
