I was prescribed Doxycycline to treat PID - Pelvic Inflammatory Disease - 100mg once daily. After 5 days, my symptoms were not impoving. I had been bleeding and cramping for 11 days, so I phoned my Doctor back with my complaints and he prescribed an additional antibiotoc - Amoxyllin. The Doxycycline side effects I've noticed are weird. First side effect was a tingling in my lower lip, like a fizzy feeling. This wasn't unpleasant, just very strange. I have also been feeling groggy and lethargic, and am feeling depressed. I'm really teary, my mood is low and have little energy. My throat feels like it's a bit blocked also. I have another week to go until I'm finished them, I know I must complete the course, and I'm counting down the days. Doxycycline is not my friend. :(
