I am sorry to hear that your daughter had those side effects. My daughtrer started taking Geodon at 14 and had the horrible stomach pains and "bathroom issues" too and the doctor acted like I was nuts when I said it had to be caused by Geodon. We have went through two years of this. The medication worked for her bipolar for a while but the side effects were horrid. They just increased her Geodon to 20 mg a.m. and 80 mg p.m. and she started having visual hallucinations. The child is 16 years old and now petrified of the dark and cannot tell if the people she sees are real or not. The doctor and are are taking her off of this medication. I don't know what medication he will prescribe but I would like to have her medication free for a little while and see what happens. She has learned a lot of coping skills for the depression through therapy and hopefully a milder medication will work to control the mania.
