I have been on Zoloft (150mg) as well as Wellbutrin (300mg) for the last year. I have been on Zoloft for nearly 6 years (for postpartum depression and then ongoing depression) and the wellbutrin was added in by my doctor 2 years ago when the depression symptoms seem to be returning. However, during the last year, I am tired ALL THE TIME - really tired. The kind of tired in which I feel like I can not function. I nap any chance I get (which is difficult because I have four children) and still have no problem falling asleep at night. I have been to the doctor and have had blood tests to see if my exhaustion can be attributed to anything but my test always come back normal. So I am now wondering if my tiredness is a possible Zoloft side-effect... And is it possible for it to be a side effect that surfaced several years into using this drug? I did not feel like this when I first began either of the medications. I also wake up nightly completely soaked with night sweats... another Zoloft side effect. If anyone has any similar experience or advice, I'd love to hear!

I have had all the following side effects of Zoloft. Some were 'early' side effects that subsided with use. Others were ongoing.

nausea (Early)
loss of appetite (subsequent weight loss) (Early)
loss of "sexual" appetite (Ongoing)
diarrhea (Early)
constipation (Early)
restlessness; wired feeling) (Early)
insomnia (Early)
tiredness; could sleep all day, if left alone (Ongoing)

But the one that finally made me give up on Zoloft was the night sweats. I found that the sweats usually occurred in the week before and during my menstrual cycle. During this period, I would wake up during the night to find myself and the bedding soaking wet. And the Zoloft sweat had a strange smell -- not like my normal workout sweat.

It's unfortunate that I couldn't live with the night sweats because I really did have pretty good results with Zoloft (for panic disorder).

That's why I'm here now; looking for ways to battle some of these side effects because I really want to try Zoloft again.

I am going to call Doctor.

I was on Zoloft breifly last year for social anxiety disorder and depression. It was horrible. I felt constantly drained like I could just sleep all day, I had night sweats, little or no appetite (which is bad because I'm underweight to begin with), diarrhea and nausea (for about the first month), and one night I woke up crying wanting to kill myself. After that I stopped taking the medication. I couldn't keep taking a medication that made me feel that much worse than I did before. I'm still afraid to try another anti-depressant, so now I'm not taking anything.
