I went on levaquin-2 rounds of it, due to pneumonia. I felt very out of sorts and discombobulated. Dizzyness, word recall problems, insomnia, diahrrea. My tongue was coated with a thick white film. One night my tongue and my hand felt very disconnected to me, and I had a strange but familiar taste or sensation in my mouth but I couldn't name it. It lasted 3 or 4 minutes. I think I may have had a petit mal seizure. I have been having trouble with my vision, things I read are blurry now, and I have never worn glasses, or had vision problems before. I have been off of this medication for 6 days now, and I am still feeling some of these side effects. I rarely have any side effects from medications. I will never take this again.

I was prescribed Levaquin after colon surgery. I developed an infection at the incision. This alone was very painfull. While taking this drug I wasn't able to sleep and I had bad dreams. Then the headaches set in. After finishing the seven day supply I couldn't turn over in bed, my shoulders hurt so bad. Now ever muscle and joint in my body hurts so bad I shake.

Are Dr.s not aware of what this Drug is doing to people or do they just not care. I already had Neuropathy and I don't need anymore agony to go with it. I am having trouble just typing this small note. Do we have any recourse?

I too...took levaquin 6 0f 7 doses for sinus. After several days I could hardly walk..pain and discomfort in knees and legs, stiff neck, night sweats and low grade fever. It's been over 3 weeks and I've improved BUT knees are still sore including tendens..hard to walk like I used too and get in and out of the car, walk down stairs. I now let my wife drive..I don't know what's worse! Seriously though, this has been and continues to be a stretch. Doctors aren't concerned and at times seem unbelieving. This stuff is poison!!! Joe

I had the same thing happen to me but only after taking one pill the second time. I took the recommend dose a year before with no problems. The very next year was prescribed a dose took one pill and it landed me in the hospital. I first started with the itching took bendryl like the pharmacist said. Than within 15 minutes both my eyes turned blood shot red and became sensitive to light, temperture shot up to 104. I went to the emergency room 4 hours later and was told it was an allergic reaction to the levaquin. Two days later started having a painful like numbness in both legs and couldnt stand up on them. Third day couldnt see anymore and both eyes were painful to stay open. Four day went back to my dr and was prescribed sterioids to conteract what the one pill had done and two days after that still couldnt see and getting worse and ended up at the eye dr who had to prescribe me two kinds of powerful eye drops one to numb my eyes and the other to counteract still the one pill I had taken of the levaquin. He said than that I would have to get glasses and I had never and I repeat never had vision problems. Now I cant see anything close up and cant read at night at all. I cant see any small print even at arms length. Its horrible what this drug has done to me. Still have problems in my legs but thankgoodness I can stand and walk again.

Oh forgot to mention like the 10th day after all of the above ended up in the hospital with Agranulocytosis, with a bad case of thrush, basically on deaths door they said. I spent 13 days in the hospital and taking shots to boost my bone marrow so I wouldnt have to have a bone marrow biopsy. Wont ever take that medication again.
