I read one of these posting and someone had increased symptoms after being switched to metroprol. I never had heartburn however my doctor did suggest that I start taking prilosec when I started toprol so it must be a common side effect. I had all the side effects you mentioned, foggy thinking, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue. I hated it. I am off of it now and feel much better. Just be sure and talk with your doctor before you make any changes.
Hi, I personally turned down the generic. I found out it would only save me less than $5 and with what I've read about it I just didn't want to risk it. I too have many of the same symptoms you've described, I've been taking this for over two years, and on my next doctor visit I plan on finding a way to get off of this awful medication. I was put on it for an irregular heartbest, and the side effects are now worse than my original problem.
Also, the heartburn is common, which is why most pharmacists will tell you to not take it on an empty stomach. Good luck with this medication, you're gonna need it. Take care, JC
