i had mirena inserted in jan 07...all was good thereafter spotting for a couple months...and when i finally got a "normal bleeding" i felt like i was in the bathroom every 20 minutes...there were times when i felt like i didn't deserve my family because i was so mean to them..i constantly pick on my husband just to see how mad i can get him..this is not me at all..i used to love being with him and just hanging out with the kids, but now i feel like i always wanna be away from them..I HATE THIS FEELING...there have been times when i felt dizzy..I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE BUT I FEEL A LIL BETTER KNOWING THAT IM NOT THE ONLY ONE GOING THRU THIS...I'M GETTIN ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW AND MAKING MY APPT TO TAKE THIS CRAP OUT! THANKS TO ALL U WHO EXPRESS THE REALITY OF THIS DAMN THING!!

I had a mirena inserted and was very happy for the 5years..not getting periods was great...
Three years into the mirena I managed to lose 10kilos...it was very hard work, but I did it..
My new Mirena fitted one year ago...quite quickly I gained those 10kilos..and this year have had a thin brownish discharge..especially at times when I am stressed...not sure if its related or not...
I had hoped that the next 5 years would see me through to menopause, I'm 48....I feel OK, take St Johns Wort each day...to ward off any sad feelings...Its hard to know what the side effects are...weightgain..definitely, spotting not impressed..you can forget oral sex....on the whole its better than having more kids....
