I have not been diagnosed with MS yet but have had 3 bouts of Optic Neuritis and this is the second time they are putting me on 3 day iv 1g solumedrol. I had to taper with prednisone last time and it caused a lot of pain in my knees and alot of anger/crying. I'm on day two of the solumedrol and feel very anxious, strange, crying, leg pain, crazy? I wish I could find an effective way of lessoning these side effects...i'm trying Chamommile tea & vitamins B's at 3am hopefully it will help.

My thoughts are with you. I just finished 5 days of SoluMedrol IV and I know how you feel. I have been diagnosed with MS, relapsing remitting type. I am having problems for the first time with severe distention in my belly and thrush in my mouth. Your symptoms are not unusual, but they are disturbing none the less.. I take Betaseron injections every other day which leaves me sick and it leaves big red whelts every place I have previously injected. Currently I am on Lexapro to handle the anxiety of the disease and the side effects of the medications. I thoroughly believe in the natural remedies for coping with the everyday trials of MS. But I also have noticed a great relief of symptoms associated with the disease while taking the Lexapro (20mg) I am able to better cope with everything and I am sleeping better. Just a thought. Good luck to you. J.
