The differences between the pills and the amount of protection they offer for not getting pregnant is nothing. Either pill offers the same amount of protection against getting pregnant because they both stop egg production. But what is VERY important for not getting pregnant is to take the pill at the same time everyday; within 30 mins. That is how the pill is most effective. Of course, if you forget, still take it the same day. The thing that makes pills different are the side effects and the length of your actual period. The question you should ask yourself is why you went off Ortho tri cyclin to go onto Loestrin? IF you weren't having bad side effects on Ortho why'd you switch? As for the pregnant thing right now... it seems from what every one said that your symptoms sound the same as everyone here but it's always safe to take a pregnancy test. It's better to know for sure. FYI- these are my opions... I am not a dr, nurse or medical professional but I have been on the pill for 15 years and been on MANY. I have never gotten prenant from being on any pill and I use NO OTHER form of contraception.
