Your symptoms sound similar to mine! The insertion wasn't "cooperative". During the first week I felt about 6 months pregnant. I went back to my Doctor after 10 days feeling run down w/ cramping that came and went whenever I ate. It ended up being a UTI from the insertion because sex was not even something for me to consider due to constant bleeding and lack of sex drive. Since the insertion, I've always felt bloated, and when I jump rope, I feel like I have to pee, even though I don't and I know I don't have another UTI because I just went to the Dr. again thinking that I had one. An ultrasound just recently revealed that I have an ovarian cyst that is being made more painful, more often, due to the IUD. So, now after 2.5 months, I will be getting it out on Mon. I can't wait to see if I start feeling better soon. Basically, I know how I felt before the insertion, and I was very happy and open-minded about it since I have spoken to 4 others who really are happy w/ theirs. I already knew that I am very sensitive to homones, but I was hoping for the best. I have also experienced the constipation, anxiety and acne. I am a 39 yo mother of 2, and I know what is "normal" for me...Normal used to be only seeing the Dr. once a year for my annual pap exam. I am probably going to get my tubes tied soon.

I had my Mirena removed one month ago. Don't be alarmed but you will still have some very heavy bleeding and clotting for awhile. My bleeding and heavy clots lasted for about 2-3 weeks after having the Mirena removed. My physician put me on a low estrogen birth control pill and I have never felt better. I'm having my first "regular" period as I type. It is so light and I never even cramped. My skin cleared up and is smooth as ever. My legs pains and back pains have vanished. I'm back to my happy self again. I gained weight with the Mirena. Once removed I lost 5 pounds in one month.

I told my physician that I know why the Mirena will prevent birth control. Once it is inserted, you are in so much pain, and so cranky and constantly bleeding that you don't want to have sex at all. Might as well be abstinent.
