BCP's are not recommended for PCOS for many reasons.
A) It does not treat PCOS, it only helps mentrual symptoms. There are other alternatives that are better suited.
B) While on BCP's, the PCOS is being untreated in most cases. As PCOS ages, PCOS gets worse. Once you come off the BCP's symptoms come flooding and worse then prior to going on the pills.
C) BCP's do not stop complete stimulation to the ovaries thus, follicles can still grow but not to maturity. NonPCOSer/diabetes ovaries desolve those unmatured follicles. Not the case for us, instead, we hold onto them and they turn into cysts. Ovaries give off androgens as does each cyst.
D) When coming off the pill, the hormones go crazy. Your natural body wants to do one thing, the bcp was telling it to do another and now your body is in a fight for a little bit trying to get back to it's natural state. This can cause a lot of problems for the patient, including migraines.
I suggest trying to work through it until the bcp-induced cycles level out. You should also cut back on carbs/refined sugars as this also gives the patient migraines.
