I was compelled to write this because of all the negative comments that have been posted. I believe the symptoms people are experiencing are real, but I also believe that they don't happen to every single person who takes Yasmine. People tend to speak out more on the negative than the positive, and that may be part of the reason there's so much bad feedback. I've been on it for two weeks now and haven't had a single side-effect...nothing. Although I wouldn't mind the bigger breasts side-effect. ;) I'm 37 and haven't been on birth control pills in probably 15 years. At the time I started taking this pill, I also quit smoking with the help of Chantix, and still no major mood swings, depression, decreased sex drive, etc. I have very acne prone skin, but it's been MUCH less oily since I started taking Yasmine. I've had some breakouts, but no large cysts. I also started using Retin-A about a month ago and believe the pimples I'm getting now are from that, not the Yasmine. Bottom line, everyone is different, and not all meds work for all people. I would encourage anyone who is concerned about starting Yasmine or wants to come off just because of comments posted here, to think twice and talk to their doctor.

hi,i just wanted to reply to your post, i am one of the unfortunate women that suffered terrible mental and physical side effects from this pill. you are quite right when you say that this pill is not bad for everyone,we are all different and our bodies all react differently to any medications.

whilst i was on yasmin my skin was really clear and my breasts increased in size, i also lost some weight and was not as hairy as i used to be. that was the plus side.

the down side was crippling panic attacks, agoraphobia, hairloss, dizziness, ear congestion, weakness, lethargy, depression, paranoia, back pain, numbness in my hands and feet, rapid heart beat, blurred vision, shortness of breath, ibs, stomach cramps, nausea and generally feeling like crap!

i was fine for the 1st 6 months i was on it and thought it was the best pill ever untill the background anxiety set in then the panic attacks then the constant terror i felt, all the physical ailments seemed inconsiquential compared to the fact i thought i had gone crazy, i went to see my gp who told me i had developed and anxiety disorder and tried to medicate me,i asked if the yasmin could have caused this and he said "no,no way, none of your symptoms have anything to do with yasmin..." .....oh yeah! guess he has never read the insert then! i believed him and carried on taking yasmin for another year, more than enough time for the rot to set in and the agoraphobia to take over my life, that is very inconvenient if you have 2 young children that you need to feed and drive around to various clubs/parties!

i researched yasmin and found this site and stopped taking it that day and guess what i have been getting better every day...coincidence?????

anyway,my point is,i did think twice and consult my doctor who knew sod all and contributed to my 2 year hell!

this pill may be a miracle for some but for others it is pure poison,my point is listen to yourself and your body, listen to your friends and your husbands,if they say you have been different lately or you have felt differnt lately then consider it may be your pill.read the instructions in the pack, read the side effects be alert always.

if it works for then that is wonderful, that is how it should be but just be on your guard that's all.

i wish you all the best for the future,i hope yasmin delivers what the makers claim it does and you continue to feel good on it.

ps....sorry for the long post!
