I took the Lisinopril 10 mg, last three weeks ago. And started experiencing dry cough and hoarseness. Been to three doctors, my primary, EENT, and an internist. Was diagnosed having a reflux and was asked to take Protonix, and started vomitting on top of the dry cough and hoarseness. Last resort, I decided to go to an Internist, a chinese doctor, thank GOD, finally, problem discovered, the culprit was lisinopril, was asked to stop taking it right away, and was prescribed a cough medication. Still on my way to recovery. It was really a hell/nightmare experiencing the side effects of Lisinopril. This is a DRUG FROM HELL!
I am a 52 years old male, started taking this medication about a year ago. I have had throat issues ever since. I went to an ENT and he scoped me. No issues but sinus irritation. I never connected this drug with my problem. I never suffered from a sinus condition before, but this last year I have had the tickle in my throat which affects my ability to speak for a minute or two, have to cough the tickle out several times a day and live on cough drops. Tried all the medications to treat this "sinus" condition both over the counter and prescribed, with no relief. As of today, and after reading the many posts here, I am stopping this medication. I will report back in a month or so with my result.
