Hi,
How is your foot pain now? I, too, developed severe left foot pain after being on Lamictal for about 11 months. It was diagnosed as plantar fasciitis. I took weeks of intensive physio and did swimming therapy, but it didn't really help. Finally had to get a cortisone shot in the bottom of my foot, which definitely helped. That was last Nov., and the benefits of the shot lasted until recently, when the pain returned, so I had another shot.
Until I read your posting, I never linked the foot pain with the Lamictal. I found Lamictal did improve a number of my bipolar symptoms to a certain extent, particularly the anxiety and suicidal thoughts. However, in addition to the foot pain, ever since I've been on the Lamictal, my chronic headaches have become much worse, to the point where I've had to take significant time of work on 3 occasions in the past 7 months. Now I have to take strong pain meds in addition to the Lamictal. I just started taking a vitamin/mineral supplement, which I hope might eventually help offset the negative side effects of the Lamictal. If it doesn't, I don't know what I'll do. I tried low doses of Lithium recently for about 3 weeks, but that had a whole different set of unacceptable gastrointestinal side effects, along with chronic shivering, shaking all over my body, panic attacks with heart racing and severe pain in my joints. Maybe I'm just supersensitive to medications.
Anyway, I was very sorry to read about your difficulties with your foot. I hope you've found some relief.
