I have pain in my left hip flexor when taking Lipitor. I was on 40mg/day and went on a daily walk with my wife after her back surgery. My left hip flexor would cramp. Sometimes it would cramp so bad, I had to quit walking and catch a ride home. I had a month holiday off of Lipitor and could run after a week with no pain. I started back on 10mg/day and the pain has returned, but not as bad. I did an experiment- Laying flat on my back, I could lift my left leg one foot off of the floor. I stopped the Lipitor for seven days and could lift my left leg two feet off of the floor. Can anyone help me?

Hi, My name is Darleen, I am a Ga. Licensed Massage Therapist and have been for 5 years. I have never posted on this type of website. So, here goes. Thomas Edison said "The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human body, in diet, and in the causes and prevention of disease." Our doctors hand us a pill. It's the easy way out. Instead of education. Knowledge is power, Ignorance is evil. The widespread use of Lipitor and other statin drugs may end my massage therapist career! The side effect of tendonous muscular contracture causes my clients who are on it to be so hard it is like massaging a rock! If you have just plain on leg cramps on these drugs you are suffering from prescription drug poisoning. A doctor told me this. Not mention the other side effects I hear about; dry skin, dry hair, dry mouth, peripheral edema, generalized edema ( I see this one a lot, too.) peripheral neuropathy ( and this one), dizziness, headaches, and the list goes on. WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW, AND A DOCTOR SAID THIS, IS THAT WHATEVER SIDE EFFECTS YOU DEVELOP WHILE ON THESE DRUGS, ARE IRREVERSABLE!!! After about six months on these drugs I get the first few side effects, but after about 2 years it's the peripheral neuropathy!! This will never go away!!!
Because I was so concerned about my clients, I asked a doctor what amount of time these drugs extended a persons life, his answer....6 MONTHS. The quality of life people lose for this amount of time amazes me. Two pharmacists I know said they would never let their family members take these drugs. It is a multi-billion dollar business that is really hurting people and they are afraid not to take them because a doctor told them too. I recommend going as natural as possible ( and beware red yeast rice can cause these side effects.) I'm talking about drinking water, using sea salt, walking, eating oatmeal, cheerios, berries, lots and lots of berries. :) Investigate other natural FOOD options. You might want to check out www.watercure2.com. When I see the commercials for these drugs I get physically sick. At the end if you pay attention they say, " If you experience unusual muscular pain this is a rare side effect please tell your doctor." Did you pay attention to this? IT IS NOT RARE, EVERY CLIENT I'VE WORKED ON HAS HAD IT AT SOME POIINT. Please, please investigate any other options you can. I would scream it from the housetops....you are hurting yourself taking these drugs!!!!!!!!
