Also experiencing severe hair loss and breakage as the only side effect since starting Actonel 35 mg 1x/week two months ago. Have always had a good head of hair, and the Actonel is the only thing different in my life since stating the drug. I advised my doctor of this, but he did not think it was Actonel so suggested I continue taking the drug. Instead he sent me for a complete blood workup and urine analysis to see what else it might be. All test results came back normal and negative. I am not going to take any more Actonel, and today advised my doctor of this. I asked for a referral to a Dermatologist and am waiting for him to return my call to discuss this.
