I have been on Lisinopril for about 4 or 5 years. This past Saturday,11-10-07,I started having some strange problems. At first my tongue swelled up so big it was hanging out of my mouth.Later my mouth and tongue got so sore and tender it felt like I had chewed on glass.I wasn't able to eat or drink.I couldn't sleep for the severe pain.I was breathing hardhad swollen lymp nodes,my throat swelled so bad it was almost closed. My throat never did get sore though.I also experienced lightheadedness.I had to go to the ER where I was told it was from the Lisinopril.I had a severe allergic reaction which I was told isn't uncommon. The Dr. said any BP medicine can cause this but he has seen quite a few cases involving Lisinopril.I was given injections to counter-act the Lisinopril.I started feeling 100% better within 15-20 minutes.I gad to stay at the ER for a about 2 hours so they could check on me to make sure I was okay. After finding this site today and reading others experiences,I recalled how just recently I have had nausea, lots of headaches and too many other problems to mention.I never associated these things to any meds I am on.Thanks for all the other posts. It is very helpful,

Peggy I am replying because your post was the most recent. I have been on
Lisinopril for a little more than 5 years. The first year was nothing I could
really put my finger on but since then I have suffered all of the complaints
that you can find on this web site and then some. I stopped, cold turkey,
yesterday. I am checking pressure daily and waiting to see what happens.
I could no longer take this drug as I honestly think it is killing me. I have
never read so many horror stories about a FDA approved drug which has not
been taken off the market. When you mention this to your Dr.(mine) he looks
at you as if you have two heads and tells you its one of the best on the
market and the only side effect is a slight cough. Let me know how you do when you are off of it. Thanks Chuck
