I think maybe you all need to consider - The side affects you men...

I think maybe you all need to consider - The side affects you mention could be because you are a woman!! The following side affects that women search for and try to find answers for are all typical symptoms that I have had all my life as a woman. Whether on birth control, off birth control, pregnant or not. My life circumstance, relationship, age all make a difference. At any given time I could blame these symptoms on "birth control" but I don't think it is that simple. -anxiety/mood swings/erratic behaviour -headaches -weight gain -cramps, water retention, swelling etc. Anyway, I suggest you all try to be reasonable and consider other possible causes of your symptoms? Exercise, eating right, relaxation, relationship building, all of these things can eleviate MOST of these symptoms. By the way, been on Aviane and switched to Yasmin, no difference, sex drive is actually increased, feel good not symptoms if anything , better now and had serious cystic acne and is now gone.

I've been on Yasmin a little over a week, and I feel great. The only thing I've noticed is that my heart beat seems to be faster, but I only notice it when I go to bed. My breasts haven't grown in size, as most people claim theirs do, nor have i seen improvement in my skin for better or worse, but it is still early to tell. I don't see why people give Yasmin a bad reputation just because it doesn't work with their body.

When I first started Yasmine, I was just like you, but believe me, you won't always feel so good. I had acid reflux, which I was tested for, headaches, leg pain, irritability(extreme) irritable bowel syndrom symptoms. I lost a lot of weight because food wasn't appealing to me. I went off at the beginning of October. At first, I suffered with headaches(constant), night sweats, etc. Now, I feel great and have even gained most of my weight back. I can finally eat, walk, sleep, and enjoy life again. Those pills are poison and I would never recommend them to anyone.

hi there,i just felt i had to reply to your post. don't get me wrong i am glad yasmin works well for you,it works well for many women but it causes havoc for many women too, when i 1st started yasmin i loved it,my skin was better,my periods lighter etc and i lost a couple of pounds.
within 6 months i had a strange sensation that my heart was fluttering and beating out of sync,i ignored it. then i had the same sensation and blacked out. then the anxiety/panic attacks started along with numbenss, headaches, stomach pains, nausea, hair loss.the list goes on and on. i had none of the problems before and was not on any other medication,my life was going really well,no trauma no nothing. whilst agree with you that many of the symptoms mentioned are "normal" for many women they were not and are not normal for me now i have stopped taking this pill.
as the saying goes one mans cure is another man's poison.
not every mother that took thalidamide (remember that wonder drug!?) had a child that was deformed but many did...........
we are all different and our bodies react in a different way so you cannot say that we are all just moaning and probably would have had these side effects anyway from just being a woman!
What we want is for the medical profession to accept that this pill (and i'm sure many others )have the potential to cause the problems we mention and advise their patients of the possible problems as well as selling it on the benefits it may provide. if i had been told that my life and my health/mental state could suffer because of this pill i would have given it a wide berth i can assure you.
hope it continues to help you but just be aware of any odd symptoms that may begin to appear.

HI,
AFTER READING YOUR POST I HAD TO REPLY. EVERY WOMANS BODY IS DIFFERENT AND MANY WOMEN ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO ARTIFICIAL HORMONES. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A WOMAN DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD BE EXPERIENCING ANXIETY, DEPRESSION OR ANY OF THE OTHER SYMPTOMS YOU MENTIONED. OBVIOUSLY YOU WERE LOOKING ON THIS SITE FOR A REASON!!!! SO MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK A LITTLE DEEPER INTO WHY YOU ARE HAVING THE SYMPTOMS YOU MENTIONED. AND DON'T OFFER ADVISE TO SOMEONE WHO IS SUFFERING UNLESS YOU HAVE WALKED IN THEIR SHOES!!!!!!!!

You should be ashamed of yourself--your posting speaks to us as though we are all neurotic, crazy females, and I, for one, can get that treatment elsewhere. For women, there is an acceptable, expected amount of anxiety, mood swings, cramps, etc--then there are unreasonable levels of such, and, as women, we know when something isn't as it should be, because along with all the crazy hormonal stuff we are blessed/cursed with incredible intuition.

How dare you post a statement that suggests we are all just imagining things.
