I took one injection of Lupron for fibroids in Nov. 2001. It totally changed my life, I am no longer the same person I was before. It started with severe migraine headaches for 14 days straight and attacks of nausea, lack of appetite. I used to have a strong stomach - now I was very easily nauseated. I never went for the second shot. I began to have panic attacks regularly (I had not had them for over 20 yrs). I was tired all the time, and a person who used to work out at the gym 5 days a week - eventually I quit. Now I just walk. I feel about 65 yrs old (I am just 49). I look old, my face began to droop, my hair thinned. I had bouts of depression coupled with general anxiety. My migraines worsened. My sex drive dropped to zero, I feel almost "sexless". I used to be confident, now I was afraid of everything. I now suffer from irritable bowel syndrome - with bouts of diarrhea, bloating and severe gas pains. I have trouble eating sometimes.. I have had all the tests and no one can find anything wrong with me,and none of the doctors think all these problems are due to Lupron. But, I know - I was NOT like this before Lupron. It ruined my life. I just wish my doctor would have informed me of all the terrible side effects - she only told me about hot flashes. I looked into suing her for malpractice but the lawyers said they could not build a case with no real medical evidence that my symptoms are caused by Lupron. I just wish I had known then what I know now. I tell everyone - NEVER take Lupron. Six years later and I still feel like this. Oh what I wouldn't give to have not taken that drug.

I feel very sad to hear that your life has taken such a bad turn; but I doubt that it was caused by the Lupron. You see, I suffered from endometriosis for more years than I care to remember. One of my doctors put me on Lupron, which I injected (subcutaneous) myself with every morning for 3 months. The only side effects I suffered were hot flashes and a little bit of hair under my chin, which isn't even noticeable. I hope your terrible symptoms will subside. Have you considered that it might be early menopause. I started menopause when I was 38. I am 48 and am through it now; but the symptoms were horrific. Sizzling hotflashes, roller coaster mood swings, zero libido, hair loss . .. the list goes on. Now that I am through menopause, I experience only slight hot flashes every now and then.

Hi,
I totally know how you feel myself. I just googled to see if anyone was going through what I am going through and I'm 31, but you have..
I got my second lupron shot november 19th. I am being treated for adenomyosis. The first shot I I was fine for two weeks and then the real heavy bleeding, headaches, throwing up, nasuea, high blood pressure, I mean the worst headaches and added hot flashed because my hormones were so out of wack I was already having hot flashes. I am 11 weeks post op myomectomy and it's been hell since. Now after the second shot the bleeding finally stopped. I don't even know how I am managing to type back right now. I am seconds from calling the ambulance to escort me to the hospital because I just can't take the headache. the lights the sound, It feels like someone is beating me in the back of my head with a hammer nonstop. It makes me throw up and nasueas. I can't take it. other side effects are one minute I feel like it's the greatest day ever and I'm singing and happy. Then I'm mad as hell. then I'm just pissed, then I'm sooo down I feel like I'm not going to live to see my next birthday. I was hoping to try for another baby but I am ready to get a hysterectomy as soon as possible to avoid all of this any longer. I'm also starting to forget. I tried to take my boys to the mall tonight and had to cut it short because my head hurt so bad I was afraid to drive. I made it home safely but the headache is a night mare right now. I'll pray for you, you pray for me.

Laverne

Wow! I took Lupron injections for three months and I suppose I am lucky, but the only side effect I had were hot flashes. Yeah, they got on my nerves, but it wasn't that bad. I find it hard to believe that you feel you are still suffering from side effects from Lupron after only having one shot six years ago. It sounds like this may be psychological and you are blaming Lupron for the way you feel. I do not see how one shot can be affecting you six years down the road when your body has went back to normal a long time ago. Why don't you forget about the Lupron and start making an active effort to do something to make you feel better.

I am on my second shot of lupron and so far all its done for me is good I have not had a period (YEAH) but I constantly feel dizzy, and throw up every night and my boobs are killing me and I know its not me being pregnant cause I had my tube tied (left ovarie was removed) and for some reason Im a lot hornier...Which I think is odd seeing as how I've read it decreases libido when its increased mine but then again I feel just tired a lot of the time but mostly dizzy. I feel so old cause i'm only 26 and keep reading that a lot of you are in their 40's but on the plus side its made me eat less so if your on the shot and want to loose weight it can be a good thing

I was told by my doctor that i would experience possible early menopause, tiredness, lack of sex drive etc.. The crazy thing is, that yes, i was going through the early private summers and i was constantly tired, my sex drive went haywire. I was more sexually active than i was before taking the shots. I was stunned to say the least and my boyfriend sure didn't get mad about it. From what my doctor told me, this isn't normal, but there you go. I went through some of the symptoms you had but, that one was off the mark for me. The one symptom that seems to be sticking with me is my legs hurt like heck. My ankles swell and my leg bones feel as if someone has been banging on them. I try to remember to take my vitamins but I forget the majority of the time. I sure didn't lose any wait though. I gained it! I'm a "thick" woman anyway but I had to take control asap because it snuck up on me. I'm back to the weight I was before the shots now but I have to keep an eye on it or I swell up like my ankles.
