I have stopped taking Wellbutrin before and the withdrawal symptoms weren't too bad. I had nausea for about 4 hours one morning and then I had a fainting spell with nausea another morning.

I am, taking the generic 150mg 2x daily WB also and crazy things are going on. I am one to start for hours looking for answers on the internet and a lot of people are saying that the gerenic does this to them and the real Wellburtin is great, some people have beem one Wellburtin for years and then notice something strange within a week or so and look at the pill bottle and will have the generic and when they go back on the real WB will level out. You may want to Try the real WB But there are so many things out there, one will work but it sounds like you may want to call your Doc. these Med. are dangerous to just up and quit you have to go off of them slowly. The only good thing i can say about this pill so far is i have lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks, but i feel like someone i do not know. I hope this helps.
@andee "I've only been on it for 5 days, but I don't think I want to see if it works out after reading these posts. "
I don't understand how you can make all these accusations when you've only been on WB for 5 days. My doctor told me it takes at least 10 days to kick in.
I've been on WB for about 2 weeks now, and I'm liking it. I started taking it because I'm angry at the world, not so much depressed by it. WB has helped and I'm in a better mood. I do have some pretty freaky nightmares that aren't fun. I have gas but I'm not sure if its WB or not. :)
Just reading what you wrote about Welbutrin. Did you stop taking it? My daughter had been on it for 7 days now and gets really agitated at the smallest of things.
I did go off the medication and I am feeling like my old self again. I feel the winter season affecting me (want to sleep more/more down then normal/a little anxious at times) but I prefer it to how I felt on the drug. Seasonal depression is temporary and I am choosing to use my more introspective mood to make positive changes in my life instead of blocking it out. I was on it for 5 days and it took about 5 days for the headaches and fuzzy headedness to go away. I was very agitaded while on it and felt I couldn't trust myself to control my behavior. While it didn't work for me (and I will never mess with anything like it again), others may find the positives outweigh the negatives. Every experience is different. If I had a friend or relative close to me that was considering seeking help, I would recommend taking a class on how to work through depression naturally, read self-help books on the subject and remind them that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't take yourself too seriously, surround yourself with good people and be kind to yourself. Don't be afraid to talk about how you feel to those around you that care. And of course, the medication is there if all else fails. Doctors want to push drugs - they will give it if you ask. They don't know how to help you otherwise. It is up to you to take care of your own mental health in the end.
My husband was perscribed 600 mg of wellbutrin xl- generic. He was on depakote er 1500mg as well for bipolar disorder. After about a month he told the doc he could not control his emotions and the doc increased his depakote er to 1500 mg. He also got really aggitated, haulucinated and actually went into a phycosis. This happened over the holidays, so I could not get in touch w/ the dr. and I didn't know what to do. I left work early to try and get him to go to the hospital, but I was 1/2 hour to late, he had left the house and broke the law and is now in jail. I have found out that 600 mg is twice the normal dose and 450mg is the max you should take. You are the first person that I have seen that talked of halucinations, so I just wanted to let you know that you were not alone. Did you stop taking it? Did the dr. percribe something else? My husband is still taking it, now only 325 mg I think, but has not seen a dr. b/c he is still in jail and they don't care. They did cut his dose in 1/2, b/c he was still halucinating in there. Sorry this is so long, but I need info. to help me through this.
I no longer medicate myself and I don't plan on taking any perscriptions again unless it is a life or death situation. It sounds like your husband was a victim of a bad doctor...600mg is WAY too much from what I understand. The small dosage I had made me feel the same way. Why was this given to him in the first place? Why is he still on it at all? I hope you can find a lawyer that can help show the medication was a factor in his behavior. Get him out and get him a new doctor!
