I am 36 years old and have been on Lipitor 40 for about 5 years. Over time, I have noticed it very difficult to concentrate and focus. I am always dragging, and my shoulders, neck and legs always ache. I guess I chalked most of it up to getting old. But recently, I started to get burining, shooting pains in my left elbow area (doctor says tennis elbow). After doing a little research - I was shocked to find that almost every symptom that I have- can be related back to Lipitor. I stopped taking it for a few weeks, and I started to feel a little better. I stopped because I couldn't afford it. Once I was able to refill my prescription- the same issues started again. I think that I am going to stop it for good, and document changes in my body. Hopefully for the better

I am also 36 years old, and over the last month I put on some extra pounds. My doctor precribed Lipitor because of my chlosterol. I realize that I am overweight for my height, but I have been so sick since I started taking lipitor. I told my mom that I am going back to the doctor and, tell him I can't take lipitor no more, it makes me very ill. Please stay in contact :

It is a known fact that Liptor causes memory loss and they think the other chlosterol medications do too. They know for sure about Liptor. Mine is 211 and they insist I take the medication. I said NO.

It does cause aches and pains especially in the joints. If you research this on the web you will find out it is not good for your chloserol to be too low either.

Go to http//blog.wellnesstips.ca/blog/index.php/?p=134 and read High cholesterol does not cause heart disease.

Cholesterol is an essential component of our cell membranes, it acts as an anti-oxidant. You can read more on the site above. It can be a risk factor and not be a cause of heart disease.

I know several people who won't take this medication. I know I never will. I want to join the Y and exercise to bring mine down. They would rather I take the pills!
