My son was on Singulair for a year from 3 to 4 years old. It did horrible things to him. Eye irritation was high on the list. His original doctors tried to tell me that he'd developed an emotional tic because of the way he rolled his eyes (they were itchy). I literally printed everything that had been written to date on this site about Singulair (I think it was only 40 pages back then--this was in 2005, I believe) and GAVE it to his new pediatrician. That same pediatrician has recently told me that they've taken a bunch of kids off Singulair for the same reasons I took my son off. This drug is BAD. Definitely get your daughter off. There are other ways to treat asthma and allergies.
Oh my goodness! My 20 year old son stopped taking Singular which worked fine for his mild asthma. Since he quit taking it he has all of the symptoms above and is manically depressed. I just want to cry for him. He has heartburn, can't sleep, headaches, palpitations and very very depressed. He does not know what is wrong with him and wants to beat the day lights out of someone because of his aggressive feelings. We are talking about the most happy go lucky young man there is. He is a whole different person. We are sending him to the doctors this coming week.
This is so sad to see! I hope you all feel better!
I am 27 and was on Singulair for three weeks and the first thing to get messed up was my sight. I have blurred visioin and wake up with red, puffy, pasty eyes. I cannot wear contacts anymore and was going to consult my eye doctor. Now I don't even want to go b/c it seems like a waste of time and money...they are propably going to say I have allergies. Just take her off the Singulair. It started with vision problems and today I ended up in the ER for other complications.
