My Asthma Doctor wants me off Toprol ASAP - he thinks that it is making my asthma worse. Said to go to my Primary Care Physician and switch to Diovan - said that immediately switching to Diovan means that I do not have to wean off the Toprol - does anyone know if this is true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I take 50 mg of Toprol daily for HBP.

Hi Vanessa,
I also have asthma and was wondering if when you were experiencing worsened asthma symptoms, if it was LIKE an asthma attack, but more like all the time, SOB and no relief from albuterol or neb treatments, or if you found that your symptoms were relieved with the use of your asthma meds? Just curious, because what I have been experiencing is like asthma,, but lasts MUCH longer and asthma meds do not help at all.

Hope you are feeling much better soon and that you are able to transition easily to your new meds, I am curious to know how the new meds work for you. Will you please keep me posted? Hang in there and take care!
