This site mostly shows negative side effects of the Mirena and as with any medication it will affect everyone differently. Have you checked for any websites where people posted how happy they are with the Mirena? I don't know if one exists but I think it would be worth looking into. I've had the Mirena for almost a year now and I haven't experienced what these others have...maybe the mood swings but that's it. But not having to worry about birth control for 5 years I think is a good trade-off as I can't say for sure that my mood swings are just because of stress or if it is specifically because of the Mirena.
