Hi there! I have to say, I am so happy that I have found this website. I feel like I'm crazy!! I have been taking Yasmin for a little over a year or so and within the past two month I have noticed significant stress, anxiety, depression (which I have NEVER experienced in my life). Although, over the past year I have noticed I have been tired, overall low energy, and snappy for no reason. Really high strung. I never knew why. I do have to ask though, those of you who have stopped taking, or switched from Yasmin...have you noticed a shift in mood for the better? Have you noticed a difference in depression? I am planning to make an appointment for my OB/GYN tomorrow to get off this pill. I just want some hope that things will indeed get better, you know??

I was searching the internet to see the side effects of Yasmine because my daughter has become severely depressed since she started taking it only 3 weeks ago. After reading your stories, I'm going to call the doctor about another type of BCP. I just wanted to validate you by letting you know another person feels the same way you do.

I went off in October and yes, I do feel much better. My stress level has dropped, my legs don't hurt as bad (they still do somewhat), I don't have as many stomach problems and I'm much happier. Yasmine is the worst pill out there. I decided not to take any other pill. I haven't had a period since I stopped, and I just posted a question about that. Make that appointment with your doctor. You'll be glad that you did. My doctor thought that I needed antidepressants, and I probably did while on that pill, but now, I know that I don't need them. I hope that you stop them soon and get back to normal.

I took Yasmin for four months. I liked it because it made my acne clear up, but I gained weight even though I am an exercise-a-holic, and I became a mean unhappy person. I usually get mean the week before my period, but this meanness and irritability never ended, and weirdly seemed to get WORSE the week after bleeding. So I had my period, took it for a week and decided I had had enough. I stopped taking it one week ago. In two days I started bleeding heavily even though I had just had a period the week before. I had a normal period, about three heavy days of bleeding with a little cramping. I can't even begin to tell you how much happier and more energetic I feel. I honestly had forgotten how it felt just to have a general sense of well being and calm. I have slept great every night this week. I won't take this pill again.
