hello,ive had mine in 2 weeks now,ive not had swelling,but im getting all these other things that are wrong,insomnia, weight loss, anxiety,heart palpitations,severe shakes,pins and needles in my arms,i just cant seem to function like i did before i had this thing,im really sorry your going through bad side effects too,it does ruin your quality of life the things i used to get excited about i just cant seem to feel anything for anymore,i feel terrible as i have 2 children and im trying so hard to be normal but feel so guilty for feeling this way,i wish you all the luck with yours take care. mandy

I have had the mirena in now for 2 months. I also had almost non stop light bleeding. My breast become swollen as if I were breast feeding. I always feel like I am just about to start my period. I do not however have any of the other side effects posted. I sure hope the bleeding stops soon. I will give it 6 months. Other wise this thing is out of me.

I also have had some side effects. I have had my mirena now for 7 weeks. I have constant bleeding. Sometimes heavy sometimes light, insomnia, headaches, etc. I don't know...my ObGyn suggested a mild birth control for a month and if it doesn't reset my hormones then this thing must come out. I want to take it out now. I am not sure about the pills because I am still breastfeeding. I have till Sun. to decide if I will take them or stick it out. I hope everyone feels better and please do what's best for your body! I'll probably recommend my husband get fix. LOL!

yes it goes away and you will soon have no period at all. Your body is just trying to reject the foreign object is what my Dr used to tell me. Hang in there and in a few more weeks the symptoms will go away. Its the long terms side effects, libido loss,weight gain and acne that might bother you later.
