I am a 46 year old woman with moderate high blood pressure, and have been taking lisinopril for about 2 years. About 1 year in, my legs began to hurt me a lot. I had been taking 40 mg, which was a lot more than I needed, but I had a med-aggresive doctor. I am now with a different doctor on 20 mg, and my blood pressure isn't perfect, but I'm not as awfully tired as I was before. My legs still hurt a lot though. I can't kneel on my shins without pain, and i can't properly cross my legs to tie my shoes. I never had any problem with anything like that before the medication. It feels as if my knees are congested is the best I can put it. Has anyone else had this experience? My first doctor ignored me entirely about this, and the 2nd has tested me for inflammatory markers, but I am normal. I had the terrible cough others have mentioned, but after a while it went away completely. But then this thing with the legs. I admire the people who are turning their back on the lisinopril, but I am a bit afraid to do it myself. A lot of people have mentioned magnesium and potassium. What would be a proper dose to help?

yes still on meds couldnt take withdrawl going to try other options

yeah diovan seems to be the best one but the problem is once your on it your body is addicted im told it takes months to ween off of it
i tried and in 7 days i couldnt take the withdrawl symptoms anymore everyones body is different though so we will see what happens as of now though im back on 160 mg blood pressure is back down but tremendous itching ........ive noticed exercise and vitamins help alot of side effects must get the blood flowing to parts that dont get it ........meds unfortunatly force the pressure down and cause lack of circulation to certain parts of the body which can damage over time the iching stopped after 30 min of brisk walking everyday

I am 54, female, and have been taking Diovan for over 4 years. I have terrible itching in my scalp, ears, ear lobes, nose, and entire right arm. It's like constant sometimes. I have had one finger, a big toe, and my forearm go completely numb for a couple of hours, individually not all at the same time. Could this be a side effect of Diovan. Was your itching like this?
Also, I do feel that my eyesight has blurred over the last 3 years drastically. Blood Pressure remains great, take 80 mg once a day. Low back pain I usually attribute to sitting in front of a computer daily, but I do experience a lot of low back pain like it's fatigued. My right arm always is so fatigued, that sometimes it shakes. Tell me what you think compared to your symptoms.

Thank you,
Leslia
