I too am experiencing hair loss from Metroprolol. This was the only new medication I was put on after being in the hospital. After being on this med for approximately 3 months, my hair was coming out in handfuls. I've been off it now for almost 3 weeks and hair still coming out. Called the pharmacy and they were the ones who clued me in on this side effect which they said happens to about 3 % of people. I guess we are the unlucky 3%. But they also said that it is reversable, but I haven't seen that yet.

i've been on metropolol for 15 years. yes i too have lost my hair. very thin on top and patchy on the back of my head.no energy,sleep problems,great for my heart palpitations though. if i miss a dose my heart tells me. just had a biopsy of my scalp done to see if this med is the cause of my hair loss.
