I am a 45 year old female & am on the Toprol-XL 50 mg & take 1 t...

I too am a 45 year old female with very similar reaction to my Toprol XL (generic) dosage of 50mg daily. Adverse visual effects that led to reading glasses, joint pain and stiffness, muscle cramping especially in my legs and feet, weight gain, sleeping disturbances to the point of very little sleep and usually in an upright position, fatigue and mild to moderate depression. Are you taking brand or generic? Have you discussed your symptoms with your doctor? If so, what course of treatment did he prescribe? After reading the postings here I plan to call for an appointment.

thanks for your reply...the Toprol-XL also cause me to have mood swings & be nervous at times ....I Plan to contact my doctor about all these problems as I don't feel this med is safe... will post when I find out more from my doctor....I also had to buy some reading glasses....my Toprol-XL is the generic brand also.
