Thank you for posting your symptoms and evaluation of this drug. I've been on it for about eight months--my doctor steadily increasing the dosage from 25mg to 100mg for hypertension and palpitations. Until recently, it seemed to be doing a good job of controlling my palpitations when suddenly they're all over the place again. Damn near every time I recline, squat or bend over, or reach over my head I get flutters. Hmm. I contacted the sawbones and he told me to have it checked out at the ER. Their findings were that I was simply having PAC's and there was nothing to worry about. I typically don't read drug contraindications when starting something new because I don't want to begin with a bias (my wife is an RN, though, and I comment on things to her). I was a bit amazed at how I could identify with your symptoms and those of other posters, as well (e.g. inability to think clearly at times, cold extremities, etc.). I absolutely will be contacting my doctor to begin the process of coming off of this drug, and discussing alternatives, possibly a calcium channel blocker.
