I just had my fourth injection of Lupron and also just started taking the Add Back therapy. Before add back I was experiencing horrible hot flashes, day and night. Less than two weeks into the norethin prescription I am feeling so much better. The biggest battle now is still the emotional rollercoaster and the memory loss but I'm dealing with it.

I second your opinion-anyone taking Lupron injections needs the add back therapy! I thought I could tough it out, but it turns out life is just better when you feel better!

I just had my 6th shot, am schedule for a total of 9. My doctor is actually using a low dose of premarin (estrogen) for add back therapy. He says it is much more effective than the norethindrone but is a low enough dose so as not to effect the treatment. He is a cancer (I don't have cancer but my surgeon ran into trouble during my hysterectomy and called him in because she couldn't stop the bleeding) specialist and is very knowledgible about the effects of hormones on the endometrial tissue. So far so good. My biggest side effect is that I have a few days each month, about 12-15 days after each shot, that I am just weak and have no energy. I am a little warmer than usual, but I wouldn't call it having hot flashes.

I ONLY HAD ONE SHOT OF THE LUPRON AND I HAVE TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. PRACTICALLY ALL THE ONES ON THE LIST. I HAVE HOT FLASHES CONSTANTLY AND AT NIGHT THEY ARE WORST, YOU CAN'T EVEN SLEEP. AND I HAVE SO MANY HEADACHES I LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING ONE WHEN I GET UP IN THE MORNING. THE PILLS THEY GAVE ME HELPS MAYBE 40%. BUT IT DOESN'T HELP WITH THE DIZZINESS, WEAKNESS AND BLURR VISIONS. I'M ALOMOST READY TO GIVE UP/

i just took my 3rd shot. for my 1st 2 shots i had the add back therapy. i had to be taken off the shot due to severe headaches with nosebleeds and severe headaches with passing out. at the beginning of feb. 08 i was back in the er 3x in 48 hours due to severe pain. i was given the 3rd shot without being prescribed the add back therapy. the add back therapy made me extremely angry. i was always so full of rage. now that i'm not on the hormones i'm not so angry. i had the severe side effects with the add back therapy and i still have them now that i'm not on them. i didn't find that it helped me at all with the side effects. thank u for listening!

I have been on Lupron for one year, and only in the last four months I have gained weight - about eight pounds of flab!. However, no other side effects - no headaches, no night sweats (I actually USED to have them and they went away), I am 41 y/o, best of all, no endometrial pain/no periods, I have done Lupron only with NO back add estrogen or other drugs. I start feeling angry when my shot is due - like PMS (another thing I don't miss!)
