I had a Kenalog shot about 6 weeks ago in my face for what my doctor thought was swollen tissue after a surgery, however the Kenalog has eaten away at my tissue creating a "dent" in the side of my face. This has been a really terrible and frightening experience, and I am very concerned that the tissues will not regenerate themselves over time. He has told me that it could take a year for the tissues to regenerate themselves. Please, anyone out there who has had a similar experience with tissue atrophy after a Kenalog shot, please would you let me know if this tissues really ever came back gradually? Thanks so much.

I took kenalog for asthma for 30 years every 3 months. I did have a kenalog shot cause this problem in my hip. In fact, the spot was about 2 inches in diameter; it took about a year for it to go away. One of the worse side effects I have had from kenalog was brittle bones, early osteoporosis in my spine and hips, and very very thing skin. At age 62, my body resembles that of a much older person. Kenalog should be banned for medical use, because there are far better newer drugs available.

Hi Beaniebe, I understand your fear. I have a similar situation just occurring on my face. I too am concerned it will continue to worsen. Did you ever receive any replies addressing this? Did your situation get better? Best.

I got steriod injections in a scar on my leg (above my knee). My leg later got a deep indentation at the spot the injections were previously given. I am devistated and fee disfigured. Does anyone know if my tissue will ever regenerate?
