I'm taking Lovastatin and I'm in severe pain. My legs, hips, back and arms hurt. I have problems swallowing and breathing. Can someone please help me. I so tired of being this way. I am getting very depressed because of all the pain I'm suffering.

I think based on what you said, that you are having extreme side effects and would recommend you contact your doctor as soon as you can. You may need to try one of the other statins to achieve your desired goal of lower cholesterol.
