I had had the Mirena in for almost 2years before I began noticing side effects-mostly depression and terrible skin but also many others which were detrimental to my life, without being too dramatic! My sex drive was appealingly low and made me feel like a different person. I had the coil removed and am just using condoms, which are fine. I cant take hormones at all. I think many people don't realize that they cant either-they may experience symptoms that they don't attribute to their contraceptive. Anyway, I have had it out for about 3months now and its the best thing I ever did. The only thing which is taking AGES to clear up and that I am really upset about is the acne. It has scarred my face and my back still feels horrible. The spots are still there, although they ARE fading. I never had spots before I got the Mirena. Its kinda upsetting that this happened since I had perfect skin before.
