I keep getting dizzy, quick blackout and fainting spells since taking this medication. I also get sweats/chills. I also urinate more and am always tired. I am thinking it may be from the medication but my doctor says no and I am not sure I believe him unfortunately. Did anyone else have these spells when taking lisinopril?

Kellyk0109,
I just got out of the hospital after causing a 6 vehicle accident, in which my vehicle and another were totaled. According to all the testing, it was due either to sleep apnea or lisinopril induced violent coughing leading to cough syncope (blacking out). I had an episode at home during the night, such that the cough forced me to ny feet to try and draw something up. I coughed violently, blacked out, and took out a nightstand. Were your fainting spells or blackout incidents related at all to the coughing episodes ? My coughs would literally take the oxygen completely from me, leaving me gasping for air, not to faint. There are a whole lot of people on this drug, including my wife. I was lucky, in that, of the 6 vehicles, there waqs only material damage, and no bodily injuries, but I was lucky.

I has been taking this pill for only one week and had a spell at work where I felt like I had been sleeping at my desk because I "woke up" but it was not the same as waking from sleep or nodding off. I thought it was odd, I had not felt tired, but dismissed it. Only a day or so later I was waiting at stop light I had just pressed a button on the dash board then the next thing I know is my husband was yelling at me to stop the car and I see my front end collide (at a very low speed thank Heavens!) with the car in front of me. I recall a balckness in my vision that was fading as my husbands voice became clear and I started pressing harder on the brakes. The lady was very nice, noting no damage and we went about our ways but I found myself confusing, crying and asking "where was I?". If anyone has anymore information on this it was be greatly appreciated.

My Dad has similar things happening to him. Three times now he's ran into stuff while driving. He also spaces out randomly. Lisinorpril is the only prescription med he takes. Let me know if you guys find anything...
