Hi Danielle here, I have posted in the past, I was wondering if any of you that suffered from anxiety, and nausea post Mirena, when did you see an improvement, was it after a couple cycles? Are any of you on an anti- anxiety meds? They say that when the anxiety goes that the rest follows, is there truth to this? I am 4 weeks post removal and I still wake up with the feeling of dread, I take Lorazepam to help, but I am sick of taking a med I just want to feel like "me" again, what an uphill battle, while I do notice an improvement these pat 2 weeks to the 1st two weeks I am still very concerned about the anxiety and nausea, I went to the mall yesterday for 3 hours, and came home a wreck! crying, dread, I hate it, can anyone please tell me when I should expect to see an improvement? I know it is different for all but any information would be appreciated.

Hello Danielle, I want to encourage you to try to go as natural as possible in your recovery from depression/anxiety. Please don't give up, I would suggest going to see a Naturopathic physician (licensed by an accredited naturopathic medical school) to seek natural depression/anxiety and nausea remedies. I feel your pain, I have had the Mirena for six months now, and my fiance wants me to get rid of it. I couldn't agree more with him. I have had major anxiety attacks to the point where I have had heart palpitations, and dizziness. I am going to get this IUD removed ASAP. I was just accepted to the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and I can not believe I made a choice that would go against my beliefs, and the belief of the medicine, to have something inserted so unnatural. You are definitely in my prayers, and so is everyone else who is suffering from this piece of plastic.

Thank you for you reply, I am trying very hard not to take any anti-depressants, I want my body to heal on it's own but it is so tough, I have a 9 month old and a 6 year old, my husband tries to be the rock but sometimes he does not understand what is going on, I don't blame him, I don't even know what my body ia going through, I have been post mirena for 31 days and I still suffer from anxiety and nausea, I have lost 17 lbs in a month, and I just want to be me again, for my husband and kids, I feel like a month of my life has been robbed away from me. keep in touch. Danielle

Hi Danielle,

I got Mirena about a year ago and have suffered from cramps, anxiety, weight gain sore breast and depression ever since. But six weeks ago, in an attempt to loose some weight, I read the "User's Guide to Chromium" by Melissa Diane Smith, and found out that chromium does not only help decrease sugar cravings, but also to relieve some kinds of anxiety and depression. Anyway, I have felt better since I started to take chromium supplements, and now I am even happier because two days ago I got my Mirena removed. You might want to give chromium a try for your depression and also for better functioning of your hormones, but for detailed information check the book by Melissa Smith.

Take care,

Bettina
