Could I please use your story on my Dutch mirena site? It will be used to warn others about it. Your nickname will be mentioned as well as the medications.com site. I hope your side effects will soon clear up after the device will have been removed. Take care.
Kind regards,
Claudia
Make sure you area adamant about having it removed - I guarantee they will try to make you feel like you have other issues. Worst thing that can happen is, you will find out you actually do have other issues. But my bet is you are just fine, just another one of a very large group of women that does not respond well to this hormone. I have never experienced depression symptoms before until the past two months, and after only a day and a half of getting my Mirena removed I am already feeling more normal. I only had it for two months, so you might take a little longer, but stick with it. My nurse practitioner said it takes about 20 days to get the hormone out of your system. Also, it may take longer for your body to get it's own hormones back to normal on top of that. Maybe you'll get lucky like me and have a quick return to normal. Good luck! (Also, I found it ironic that my nurse practitioner was more informed & understanding than a doctor with a full medical degree. What is with doctors these days!?!?!)
