These side effects are VERY common after tapering off from prednisone. It can take as long as a month or two for these side effects to completely subside, but they should become noticeably less as time passes. I was on a course of prednisone for a week for some severe poison ivy and when I began to taper off, I became very noise sensitive. Every afternoon at 2 I would have severe headaches, and the slightest noise (at the time I had four kids under the age of ten...) would set me crazy. I would also break out in cold sweats. The doctor said this was totally normal and would eventually pass, but it sure made me leery of ever taking that stuff again. I thought I was losing my mind for a couple of weeks there. Lots of water helped to flush it out of my system and some extra walking helped as well.
