You should really look into adopting a whole food diet. This has been widely recognized to help with lupus, often allowing the patient to eliminate all drugs. My wife was on Cellcept, Prednisone, blood pressure medicine, cholesterol medicine, plaquanile, and was getting ready to start cytoxan. She started a strict whole food diet 3.5 weeks ago, starting with a 3 day juice fast. We all removed her from all medicines, and lowered her to 7 mg of prednisone (you have to slowly taper this one down). Without the meds and on this diet over the last three weeks, all of here negative indicators (via blood and urine test) and been reduced by half. Drugs are not always the answer. Check out the book the China Study and the book The Lupus Recovery Diet. Start there and start your research into the chemicals we stick into our bodies every day with our normal diets. You will be shocked, and you will be shocked by the indisputable connection between crazy diseases like lupus and our crazy American diet (i.e., the use of pesticides, aspartame, etc.). Good luck.
I am still on Prednisone too.... (20mg) and the hardest thing for me is dealing with the moon face but everyone says that something about my face looks different but they don't know that I am taking Prednisone. I get so hungry too and I try and eat salads and drink lots of water....
