Heather, take a look at this site : http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=713 you can find many women there who have gotten the mirena removed and keep everyone posted on how they are doing ;) Mine was taken out four weeks ago and almost all side effects are gone! Your Gyn needs to take a look at Bayer's own report about Mirena, where a list of side effects is mentioned that goes way beyond the info in the patient's information. That report can be found at http://www.mirena.ca/en/pdfs/MirenaEn.pdf Print it out, highlight your side effects and take it to your doctor! Could I use your story as an example for other women on my Dutch Mirena forum site? I'm trying to spread the word about Mirena in the Netherlands too, since a lot of information is being kept from the users. Take care, and a Happy New Year from

90% of my problems went away within a day or two of having it out. (I have other postings that detail my symptoms.) I have had it out for almost a week, and I get an occasional dull headache, but the only really weird thing is the past three days I have been a little paranoid, and wake up with somthing close to an anxiety attack. It's over very weird things that nobody should be worried about though. I have never experienced anything like this in my life, and assume it will just be temporary. My NP said it takes about 20 days or so for your body to rid itself of the hormone. It's not bad enough that I will mention it to a doctor though - I think they are too quick to put people on antidepressants just so they don't have to find the real problem. I understand after my experience why so many people are taking drugs, such as the Zoloft. The feelings are real, and it provides some temporary relief, but the the underlying problem is never figured out. Good luck!
