After reading the many complaints about the side effects of this drug, I want to know what we can do to get this drug taken off the market. Each time, I've mentioned to my doctor about this medication causing me to be extremely fatigued, she quickly dismissed my complaint. Many doctors are not listening to their patients. I wonder just how many of them are taking this stuff. What is the first legal step toward having this medication properly investigated???

Doctors are under pressure from Government(targets etc) and drug companies(Pharma) who control the prescribing of medication. Lisinopril is one of the cheapest for the Government to purchase. The NHS guidelines state .... place all older Hypertension (often very mild?) patients on 2 drugs.. then up the dosages later.
Where is the individual humane side to these rules... i.e all patients are different. I had side effects, many, on a low dose of 2.5mg a day and the doctor put these down to other factors!!.
How, as you say, do we get this drug investigated as they did with Vioxx ?

Please don't get this drug off the market! I take it and although I have had a few side effects they really don't bother me that much. I take other meds that also make me fatigued, which is the worst side effect I get--it's constant but I'm used to it. (I kind on enjoy the weird dreams!) It's not for everyone. But I need it.

It really needs to come off the market, on Wednesday October 21, 2009 my son was taken by resue to the hospital, face and neck swollen beyound recognition, could not breathe, they said he just make it they were ready to put the tube in. They ran a tube through is nose with a light and found it to be just short of closing so he could not get any air. They are taking him off of it. He has been on it for 2 1/2 years. This is too dangerous, He is still in the hospital the swelling has not gone and they are afraid it may react in his sleep and he will die. We need to start a class action before we lose a love one.
