My doctor prescribed Hycotuss for a bad cough. He said it would for sure "knock me out" so that I could finally sleep. Instead, I am up all night with racing thoughts. Why would he not warned me of possible paradoxical effects? I need sleep badly because of coughing when I lay down.

Hycotuss does not knock me out either. Rather, it perks me up, like most opioid analgesics do. Ask your doctor instead to prescribe TUSSIEONEX, OR TUSSIONEX PENNKINETIC SUSPENSION EXTENDED RELEASE. That will knock you out, and you won't have racing thoughts, at least not as much.
