I have had Mirena for 6 months and things seem to be getting wors...

The eye problems are definitely due to Mirena. Read this report:

It's the report from the manufacturer. You may find a huge list of side effects and warnings there that your doctor doesn't inform you about.

I've had Mirena for 2 years. As well as weight gain and bad skin, I've been having really swollen eyelids for about 4 months now. The sweling is there in the mornings, and I know the day before it's going to happen because I feel so ill and can't stay awake -like i've been drugged. I can actually see the pockets of fluid hanging down and it makes me look like I've been beaten up. Have just had blood tests and my white blood cell count is up but I don't know of any infection I've had to cause this. My GPis now referring me for allergy testing, but having read all this I may just have the coil removed. I'm 51 and it was inserted because of heavy periods, Has anyone else had this side effect?

I had MIrena inserted in october of 2007 I gained 10lbs in record time and had trouble with my eyes. Now things are getting better, with my eyes at least but, I 'm getting this thing taken out on Jan 24th. I have terrible mood swings, hedaches and I feel extremely tired and depressed. I know this isn't working for me. Later I'll write again to let you all know if things change for better.

Yes, yes we have the eye problems - but seem better since Mirena is removed!! Not completely gone but sooooooo much better. Good luck
