I don't think it's a good idea to go to the gym just yet. Your body needs a chance to heal from this poisoning. There is a group that is suing the FDA because of tendon ruptures associated with this class of drugs. Send in A Medwatch report to www.fda.gov and see your dr. Tell him to read the information about levaquin and make sure your records reflect your intolerence to this drug. Rest your body for awhile.
Thanks Helen. I'll take your advice and avoid the gym for a while. Do you think a month is enough? I've written a letter to my doctor describing my symptoms. I had called the doctor's office and got very little response other than that the information would be passed along to the doc who prescribed. The doc never bothered to call me back, so I thought getting it in writing would be a good idea. I hesitate to go back there since I don't trust any doctor right now--they seem to regard their function as simply an intermediary between their patients and the drug companies. Some might call them pushers. Anyway, for now, I'll be glad that I'm able to function and just hope that nothing else happens. Do you know how long it takes to rid the body of this toxin and are there any natural remedies to hurry the process along?
In the meantime, I will post my experience on the FDA site as you recommend. Thanks again for replying.
Hi there! It is uncertain how long it takes for your body to rid itself of this poison. Everyone is different. Most doctors won't even acknowledge the fact that this drug causes all of this havoc. I have seen other postings that have talked about using magnesium and fish oil to help leach it out of the body. I unfortunately was not so lucky and it has been two years this Feb for me. I still have chronic tendonitis, chronic pain in my joints and muscle cramps. I wish you all the luck and hope possible. I can only say do your own research and become your own watch dog. I have learned more than I ever wanted to know. Take care and stay positive! Thanks!
