I also had high testosterone levels before the Mirena, and migraines. I gained 45 lbs in the 7 months I had Mirena and since getting it taken out about a week ago have lost 6 lbs without trying. I also had the facial hair and cramps. I had some other side effects too - insomnia, acne, mood swings, etc. I found out AFTER having it inserted that Mirena is not supposed to be used in women who have a history of migraines, it is actually posted on their main website. I know for me getting it removed was the best choice I ever made. In a week I have started to become me again! Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck.
Oh I forgot to tell you, getting it taken out is not nearly as painful as putting it in. I felt it being taken out, but after 10 min couldn't feel anything. I would suggest taking some ibuprofen before you have it removed.
Thank you so much for you words. I have an appointment with my Dr this week to discuss my test results. Since she phoned me, I think she must have come up with something.
I'm glad it doesn't hurt so much to get it out. I've been worrying about that.
