I have been taking the generic for Norvasc, Amlodipine 10 mg. The generic makes my blood pressure go up!! My blood pressure was 200 over 99 yesterday. I have had a headache and stiff neck for days. My doctor put me on the medication that has Norvasc and Liptor together so I could get the brand name meds and my insurance would pay for it. (there is no generic for this med) I really don't like generic meds. When I was on Norvasc, I did not have this problem.

I am on the generic Norvasc and have symptoms of very intense hot flashes. I am 54 years old and I do know I am in menopause, but I can't believe that the hot flashes I'm having is all about menopause. The heat that I'm experiencing makes me so hot until I get very, very weak and I feel as though I'm going to faint. I'm also experiencing a very bad heat rash around my neck and I hear a constant, loud beating of my heart in my right ear. This is so annoying! Sometimes I have a hard time falling asleep.
