I posted a question to anyone who used Tri-Sprintec before, but now it's been several months & I'd like to let everyone else know how it's worked for me! Tri-Sprintec has been the best birth control I've ever taken. I have been on other birth controls over the years, and up to this point Yasmin was good but I still had some side effects. I've just started my fourth month on Tri-Sprintec, and I feel more like myself again. I don't have any crazy mood swings, my skin has cleared up, my periods are regular again & my appetite has gone back to normal. I recommend Tri-Sprintec to anyone who is looking for an affordable & reliable birth control (it's offered at the Wal-Mart pharmacy for $9 a month if you don't have insurance.)

Hi onesweetangel, im recently switching to trisprintec from tricyclen-lo. I read other postings on different websites regarding trisprintec and many say they've had horrible side effects! I'm a bit scared yet relieved to find a positive posting by you. Will I feel any major side effects as I make the switch from tricyclen lo to trisprintec in the first month or so? I will be calling my pharmacist soon but thought I might get your info on what you think I might expect from the pill. And I sure do hope that it will work wonders for me as it has for you!
thanks!!

I have had really good success with Tri-Sprintec as well, and even prefer it to the brand name ortho tri-cyclen. I was on ortho for over a year when I had to switch to generics for financial reasons, and didn't notice much more than a little nausea (which happens whenever I start taking something new). After several months I switched pharmacies and had to start taking Trinessa. It was horrible! Even after 5 months I was still having crazy mood swings where I would be sitting at work and just burst out crying for no reason. I went back to the Tri-Sprintec and felt better after just the 1st pack. My advice would be to give it at least 3 months to see if the initial side effects wear off, because what works for one person might not work for everyone else. Still, I'm glad to finally see a review where someone else has positive things to say about it! I'm having a lot of trouble now finding an in-network pharmacy that can guarantee they will dispense tri-sprintec every time. I just can't chance getting stuck with Trinessa, so I will check with wal-mart. Thanks for the tip!

i just started taking tri-sprintec tonight will be the third day taking it. i just had a bad expierence with avaine so i am hoping this works better for me. i do notice head aches and a lil neasea already, but that will happen with any birth control. i just hope i dont bleed for over a month like i did with avaine and that i dont become raging angry and cry and just have crazy emotions. i dont need that especially since like 2 months ago i had a miscarriage. anyways, that's all i had to say and i just hope this one works better for me!

Hello Ladies,

My name is Tiffany I just started taking Tri-Sprintec two days ago... I hope it works No one has anything really good to say about it until I found this site. I was on loestrin24 for 3 months and had breakthrough bleeding every single month while on this pill. Also, like many other woman My insurance changed and no longer pays for brand name drugs. So, this is $9 at Wal-Mart I'm really hoping this works... So, far this morning I have had no side effects and feel wonderful. I will post back soon to keep you updated.
Good Luck to All

I have been on Tri-Sprintec for over a year now. I orginally refused to take the generic and paid extra for the Ortho Tri-cyclen. I had heard awful things about the generic versions. However, my husband is in med school and we have to save all the pennies we can, so I switched to the generic last year. I didn't notice any difference at all. My periods are still like clockwork - to the hour. My skin didn't breakout and I didn't gain any weight. Perhaps one difference is that I'm a little more emotional on the generic. The first week of a new pack is usually the worst and it just kind of puts me in a mood that I just can't seem to shake. However, it's really not that bad and definitely worth it to save the money. Most insurance companies does not cover Ortho Tri-cylen brand name, so it's a savings of $50/month usually to go with the generic. I would definitely recommend going that route! Hope that helps!

Hello, I was on Depo for five years then wanted to get pregnant. I have been off Depo for two and a half years and just found out that I can't get pregnant. The Depo stopped production of my estrogen, so I am not ovulating or having periods. My Dr. put me on Tri-Sprintec to start my periods and hopefully start me ovulating again. I have been taking it for three weeks and so far...no side-effects at all. Which is good, for me. Hope it stays that way. And, the price is not bad either. I also only pay $9 at Walmart. Glad to see other people with positive things to say.

I just started taking Tri Sprintec this week, I'm on my 7th day. This is my first time taking oral contraceptives and they were prescribed mainly for my acne. So far I've really only had a little bit of nausea but it does not occur if I eat something beforehand. Also, I've been experiencing some blurred vision while wearing my contacts. Apparently this is one of the side effects and I am going to call my eye doctor about it, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
Thanks!

I was just prescribed this birth control and I'm waiting for my period to start so I can start taking it the sunday after. I'm really nervous because I've been hearing really bad things about it. I hope things turn out better for me. I was also wondering when I start taking it how long do I have to keep using another form of birth control?

I've been using Tri-Sprintec for a couple years now and I haven't had any bad side effects. My period comes the same time every month, my acne has cleared up, and I don't have too bad of mood swings. My main concern with any BC is blood clots. Has anyone had any blood clots using Tri-Sprintec?

I used to take Tri-Sprintec very regularly for months... stopped for a year... and now I'm back on it. It's worked really great for me. No weight gain, my face is more clear, regular periods, etc. The only thing I've really noticed is having tender breasts sometimes, but it's not a big deal at all. I don't know why Tri-Sprintec has gotten some bad reviews; everyone I know that has used it hasn't had any problems.

I have been using tri-sprintec for around 8 months now. Sometimes I notice breast tenderness and cramps, hunger like crazy, and moodiness. Now I am starting my period lightly a week befor I am suppose to? Anyone had these affects? When I was on the ortho try orig I experienced some of the same issues except I was never hungry. I have also gained 15lbs in the last 8 months because this pill makes me so hungry. Thoughts are absolutely welcome. Thanks!!

Hello,
I am 28 yrs old and have been taking tri-sprintec for about a year. Its a good pill, but don't be late on taking it or it will set you in to an early period. I also was doing something and I needed to put my period off for a week, so I keeped talking my pill and at the end of my period week I started it anyway, so i was on it for over a week when it stated. My Doc office told me not to do that again. The pill is not good for that. But over all if you take it when your suppost to then its good. I have 3 girls and didn't want anymore kids, and I haven't had any suprise from it. Thanks, Kriston

I've been taking OrthoTricyclen Lo for just over 2 years. When I turned in my new prescription for OrthoTricyclen Lo at Walmart Pharmacy, they gave me Tri-Sprintec instead. I'm kind of freaking out that it's not as good as my OrthoTricyclen Lo. Glad to see some good reviews on it. I'll take my first one tonight & hopefully it'll be an easy transition for me. If it works seamlessly, it's absolutely a bargain at $9 rather than the $40 I was used to paying with my health insurance. I'll post again in a few weeks with any additional comments or concerns that I have. Thanks to all of the women who have already posted with their positive comments. Gives me encouragement that I need right now.

Hi everyone! I'm in the same situation as the last girl who posted
Ordered Ortho tri cyclen lo from CVS and they gave me tri sprintec instead
read a bunch of scary reviews but then again usually the only people that type up reviews are always ones with negative experience
i'm hoping this pill doesn't turn me crazy and bloated with weight gain >.<
I'll save this website and post again in a few weeks.

It has been nearly 3 weeks since I started taking the Tri-Sprintec. I was so worried about the transition that I called my OB/GYN's nurse before I would take it. She assured me it is the exact same thing except costs less & different packaging. I've got to agree. I haven't had any weight gain, mood swings, acne or any other side effect. I would definitely recommend Tri-Sprintec if someone was taking the OrthoTricyclen Lo without any problems. I can honestly say that I'll be thrilled to pick up my monthly prescription now.....$9 vs. $40. Huge savings & still have the same results. Fantastic!!!!

wsfhubbard,
I just want to let you know that Tri-Sprintec is not a generic for ortho tri cyclen LO. Ortho tri cyclen LO does not have a generic, which means that they gave you the wrong medication.
Just to put you on the right path...Tri-Sprintec is the generic for Ortho Tri Cyclen which has higher level of hormone then the LO.

After taking Yaz for so many months & no longer being able to afford it (without insurance it was like 58 bucks!), I asked my doctor if I could switch to Odessa, the generic of Yasmin. I went to pick it up & it was $52!!! So the pharmacist gave me their cheap Drug List (Walmart) & I guess my only option is this Tri-Sprintec. I found about 13 scary sites with all negative things to say, & then I came across this one. I'm not so terrified to start taking it now. The BC is absolutely necessary, & without Insurance, I was about to go to Planned Parenthood & get me some free Yaz. If I'm in the percentage of people who hate this BC, that's exactly what I'll be doing.

Thanks for your positive input!
Lynne

Hey, about the leg pain, be very careful, because that is a sign of a blood clot. Some other signs ladies.... (I'm a nurse) trouble breathing, leg pain, most of the time leg clots happen in the calf, so if you experience any swelling, warmth or pain without relief of tylenol CALL YOUR DOCTOR!

I was on tri-sprintec for about 3 years, now I just switched to regular sprintec and I have been having CRAZY mood swings. I don't even feel like myself. My boyfriend and I have been fighting over stupid little stuff and we've never fought. It's horrible. I feel like I should switch back to tri-sprintec. At least on the tri-sprintec, I was only emotional the week before my period. I'm on my 2nd pack of sprintec and I'm still an emotional wreck everyday. Anyone else ever switch between tri and regular sprintec?

Hey im sarah and this is my first time ever taking birth control. My doctor perscribed it to me becuase I was having very bad spotting (before I even started taking the pill). I've been on it about 2 months now and I am almost on the week of the sugar pill on the second pack. I've had very very very severe spotting in between. Ever sense my last period i've been bleeding ever sense. My friend told me that I should wait until my 3rd pack but im kind of nervous 2. What should I do? Is this just a side effect cause my body isn't used to BC? I haven't had any other side effects except for a little bit of acne but that's normal.

I was just recently switched to Tri-srintec and have had a horrible time with it. My face has broken out horribly! I have never had acne before in my life! I have also had dizzy spells which results in me vomiting! I did some research on the side effects and low and behold there they were right in front of me! This post is not to bash this pill because I understand that not everyone will have the same side effects. I just want to tell what I have experienced from it and hope no one else has to deal with it.

I've started my first pack of Tri-Sprintec just about 4 days ago. I've been feeling nauseous and dizzy for whole days. Not to the point where I'd throw up but I'm definitely not in a good mood to do much of anything else. I've also had acne problems before and only recently did they clear after taking anti-biotics. I hope the BC doesnt make them come back...

I was taking Tri-Spintec for two months and I was just a sob story all the time. I think it caused some minor depression. It made my relationship with my boyfriend difficult and I eventually got sick of it and switched. I am not on Sprintec and hoping it is different than Tri-Sprintec. It is what my gynocologist refered though. Some side affects I experienced on Tri-Sprintec was weight gain, dizziness, and extreme emotional distress. There was no price difference between Tri-Sprintec and Sprintec, both are 9 bucks at Walmart.
Today is my first day on Sprintec and the only thing I have experiences is dizzyness.

This is now my second post while taking Sprintec instead of Tri-Sprintec. I have noticed that ALL the emotional responses to everything have decreased. I am not sad anymore or depressed at all! Sprintec is working for me so far! I am a little worried about sex though because when you switch birth control you should generally wait a bit for the pill to 'get used to' being in your system and become fully effective. My gynocologist did not tell me to use a second kind of birth control such as condoms. Right now me and my boyfriend are using the 'pull out' method because I didn't miss any days between switching between Tri-sprintec and Sprintec and my gynocologist did not say anything about it. I am going to call them back once the office opens to double check about using condoms or another type of birth control and making sure if switching doesn't increase any chances of pregnancy.
On Sprintec I haven't noticed any side affects other than being back to myself and not a sob story anymore!!!

I have been taking regular Sprintec for about 6 months now and im switching to Tri Sprintec in a week after i get my period because i have been having the worst acne EVER since being on the regular Sprintec plus reallllly bad bloating. I didnt gain any weight on it, but i have been trying to lose a few pounds and it is nearly impossible. I used to take Ortho tricyclen LO and never had a problem with it so thats why im going to try its generic Tri Sprintec. I just picked Sprintec because it's only $9 at walmart and it was the first one i saw on the list. In my 5 years of taking BC i have never had trouble with any kind (I have taken 5-6 different kinds) so i never thought any kind would have bad side effects on me. So hopefully the Tri Sprintec will work better for me. Just remember that everyones body is different, so its hard to judge what will happen to you based on someone elses experiences..

I am taking tri sprintec for the first time tomorrow, I am a 24 year old female and have never been on BC. The main reason I am getting on it is to clear my acne and help with my brutal periods. I am a little uneasy on taking it after all the negative posts, but I just keep in the back of my mind that everyone will react differently! I will update in a few weeks how it works! For the people that said it did clear up their acne, how long did it take before you saw a difference?

i took tri-sprintec for the first time last night and I have never been on birth control before. When i woke up today i threw up a little bit and felt nauseous, I also had really bad heart burn. I don't know if it is from the pill or something else, because I have only taken it once and it hasn't even been 24 hrs yet since I took it, but I hope it doesn't get worse and I am not experiencing side effects, just simply not feeling well. I will check back in a couple of days to let you know how it;s going

I am starting tri-sprintec this Friday...and I am scared..I was on the patch- ortho evra for over 3 years..loved it had no side effects but my new Gyno insisted I get off the patch. She put me on the generic version of Ocella..I tried it for 3 months; HATE It! I broke out, which I never had a pimple as a kid, bloated all the time, mood swings, crying, leg pain, short of breath, sweating, the list goes on and on. So I am hoping tri-sprintec works for me because I can only afford generic medication for now. Thank you everyone for your comments...makes me feel better about starting this new BC.

Hi, I have also checked out a few websites that seem to have nothing but negative reviews. I just saw my gyno recently and told him that I am thinking about having sex for the first time. He told me of several options, but I chose Tri-Sprintec because it is inexpensive. I am about to start using this entirely for the purpose of preventing pregnancy, and I am wondering if there is an alternative with fewer side effects? Mainly I am worried about nausea and vomiting... I personally freak out when that happens to me, and I cannot function. I have also had slight depression recently, and I heard that Tri-Sprintec really messes with your emotions. Ahhh I'm so nervous. I guess you don't know until you try it, though. Good luck to everyone else who's taking it, too.

I'm just about to switch from Yaz to Tri Sprintec (I refuse to pay $60 for a stupid pill to regulat a period) and after reading all of these posts I'm terrified. Is there any side effect difference between Tri Sprintec and just Sprintec?

I have been using Tri Sprintec for the past 4 months and completely love it!!! Before trying it, i googled the birth control and was extremely nervous considering all the negative reviews, but I decided to give it a shot since I was currently out of my "Trivora" birth control. Reading that Wal-Mart sold the medication for only $9 was very appealing to me since I was being charged over $25 a month for the Trivora from Walgreens!

To my extreme delight I was thrilled with the benefits of Tri Sprintec. NOT ONLY is my skin beautifully clear and smooth, my periods are short, and I don't experience any harsh cramping and other unpleasant PMS symptoms.

In response to all the comments regarding the following: Weight gain, Mood swings, Low energy levels.... and so on... Ladies, please examine your diet. Sure, birth control might interfere with your normal hormone levels... but in reality it is attempting to balance them. Before you bash any type of birth control please evaluate your nutrition, amount of sleep you get each night, and any other unfavorable "side effects" you are experiencing. Your unhealthy lifestyle might be causing it... not the birth control.

I completely recommend Tri Sprintec.

I have been taking tri-sprintec for about 4 months now and have had mostly a positive experience with it. I honestly think all of our bodies react different to different drugs. I did forget to take my pill on sunday (the day after my period ended) and I was wondering when it would be safe to fave sex without protection again. Thoughts?

Hey! I'm a little scared because just like everyone has pointed out I have only found negative things about it. Not to mention this is going to be my first time taking any type of birth control. I am just waiting for my period (lord knows when that's going to be; very unpredictable). Hopefully I won't experience too many bad symptoms. I'll defenetly get back after about a week of being on it.

I have been on Trinessa for five days now after switching from Tri Sprintec (because the pharmacy didn't have it) and my side effects are horrible. On Trinessa I started my period two weeks earlier than I was suppose to. I am angry and moody, I have had migraine headaches everyday, I am bloated, and I have almost no energy.

I called my pharmacy today to switch back to Tri Sprintec. I never knew how good it was until I experienced trinessa.

hi, ive been on tri-sprintec for about 9 months now. and it has worked great for me. this is the 1st birth control i have been on so i cant really compair. But I have had no problems with it. The 1st month i experianced a little iching and mood swings, but the dr said to give it a month or so for my body to get use to it. And that went away after I had my 1st period on it. everything is going great :)

I am happy to say that I have been on it for 2 weeks. I have just started on the 3rd. I do not have any side effects, not even any spotting. I don't expect getting my period since I started with the quick-start method. I do. however, have a decrease in appetite. I have actually lost about 4 pounds. And weight gain was my biggest fear since I'm not exactly skinny ;) Other than that I am doing very well, and feel pretty good. Hope this helps anyone. I know I was freaked out on starting it.

Hello. Please help. I was on Orth Tri Cyclen 28 and was given the generic Sprintec 28 and am terrified to switch. Has anyone made the switch and had positive results?

I've made the switch, I'm currently at the end of my first month. I used to be on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, for about 2 years and switched for financial reasons. WOW what a difference! I used to have crazy, insane mood swings that my friends and coworkers could notice and they've basically gone away since I've switched. I highly recommend this product, I've felt fantastic for the past month. No side effects like nausea or headaches either.

I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for almost 4 years and was getting them from Planned Parenthood for free. However I now have a well-paying job and no longer qualify to get OTC Lo from PP. I went through my health insurance and found that the pharmacy price was $40/month for the pack. I decided to give Tri-Sprintec a shot since it was only $9. My doctor told me it was almost the same as OTC lo except for the estrogen amounts. I had read mostly bad reviews about Tri-Sprintec but thought I would have a better chance of handling it because of my fitness level (-I am a very active female who goes to the strength trains 4x's a week for 2 hours each, and I play hockey). This week was my first week taking it and I had to stop as of last night (Day 5). The first few days, I was okay and only had slight dizziness at work. On Day 5 and most of today (Day 6) I have experienced rapid heartbeat, extreme migraines, nausea, sharp chest and abdominal pain, extreme moodiness, insomnia, and severe shaking/hunger as if I haven't eaten in days! I called my doctor right away and I'm immediately back on OTC Lo. I was hoping to save money and use Tri-Sprintec, but the $31 I could was not worth what I went through the last couple of days. The weird part was it made me very hungry and shaky and I have never eaten out of control like this. Trying to save $31 by being on Tri-Sprintec, I would've easily spent this savings on food, so it's not really saving! I rarely get sick, and this pill took me down so fast the last 24 hours to the point where I was in bed from being so sick and in pain- I think I'd rather have severe stomach flu! I'm sure this pill works for some people, but it seems based on the reviews it seems the negative outweighs the positive. If cost is a factor, try it and see if it works for you. But if you start experiencing what I experienced- STOP IT right away and call your doctor and get on something else!

I started taking tri-sprintec this month and I have had two periods this month. This has never happend to me and I feel like I have lost my sex drive. The only thing that I can think of from doing this to me is this birth control.

****Are you having severe headaches, vision problems, dizziness, ear pain, nausea?? If so, you may be experiencing what my daughter did. Please, please seek immediate treatment from your physician and request a CT or MRI. This is the only way to detect blood clots. Unfortunately, my daughter did not have that chance. She was 18 years old. I do NOT want to scare anyone! I want to raise awareness of the side effects and prevent any of you going through what my daughter did. Listen to your body and go with your gut. If something doesn't feel right, you need to get checked out. You may need to be very persistent with your doctors too. Don't give up & give in to them. If you are having any of the side effects I listed above daily, you need to follow-up with your physician immediately!!****

Well I started taking Tri-Sprintec 5 days ago and it has been an absolute nightmare for me. I have not been on BC in at least two years, before I was on ortho tri cyclen and never had one side effect. Now, that I have started this new BC, I have had severe cramping (like I'm on my period), headaches, intense nausea, hot flashes (like I'm in menopause), mood changes, lack of energy and bloating. I run 2.5 miles everyday and I am a very energetic person, now I can barely get out of the bed. Stopping the pill today to figure out another form of contraception.

I've taken tri-sprintec for about 6months now. At first i was on Yaz (my1st time taking BC ever) and i had the worst experience. first of all it was pricey, i had the worst body acne (never had acne before), the skin on my face was dry, patchy, and had dark splotches on my chin and neck. I had cramps in my legs 2 or3 times a night, that was the worst feeling i wanted to chop my legs off. i had to call off from work because the cramps were THAT bad. they usually say that you should give BC about 3months to settle in but about the 4 month it just got worst. I ended up switching to tri-sprintec which pretty much reversed all the side effects that i had. My skin is back to normal. i still get slight leg cramps, not intense, and not that often. At the beginning of every pack i experience nausea and dizziness, but its gone by the 2nd week. other than that im fine with tri-sprintec

I have just gotten a prescription for Tri-Sprintec. I have read some awful things about it. Also, my doctor told me to start it NOW even though I am not on my period. I just had a miscarriage a week ago. Will starting this now have any negative affects? What do I need to know about starting it now? I really want the protection but don't want to go through irregular cycles because of starting it before my next period. Also, due to miscarriage it could take 4-6 weeks for my normal cycle to resume anyway...any advice or guidance?

Last year my doctor switched me to tri-sprintec because wal-mart had it for $3 as opposed to the $30 I was paying for aviane. I had a few side effects but didn't relate it to my BC. I took it for about 3 months then switched to a walgreen's pharmacy which carried trinessa instead of tri-sprintec. When we moved my new pharmacy switched me back to tri-sprintec. I was having such severe side effects I thought I was pregnant. After several months of sore breasts, constant need to urinate, weight gain (about 15 pounds), lack of sex drive, mood swings and breakouts I kept coming up with negative pregnancy tests. My husband was the one to suggest it might be too much estrogen in my BC pills. I called my doctor and it turned out that was the problem. I went off the pill completely in hopes of becoming pregnant. After a little over 5 weeks off tri-sprintec I still have yet to have a period, however, I'm still experiencing the sore breasts and constant urination. Tri-Sprintec has really thrown my body off balance. In my opinion it's definitely worth spending the extra money every month for better birth control!!

This is really not for everyone. I have been on yasmin, ortho-tri-cyclyn, and various other birth controls because I have chronic ovarian cysts. I have only taken this product for nine days and refuse to take it, this can result in hospitalization because of a cyst bursting but i do not care!!! I have the worst headaches, stomach pain, nausea, cramps, and spotting I have ever had to the point that I ball up and cry for hours. My mother in a Nurse practitioner and said that generic brands of medication are very controversial. I am glad to hear that other people did well on it but it has made me more than uncomfortable.

Ive been on Ortho tricyclen-lo for 5 years. Ive never had any problems with it, it just was getting too expensive. So I just recently purchased the Tri Sprintec. I am supposed to start taking it tomorrow, however with all the bad reviews ive seen I'm a bit hesitant. I hope it works out for me...

Took Tri Sprintec for 5 month at first it was ok. Towards the end I gained 10lbs, was hungry all the time, got 2 UTIs, extreme nausea all day to the point of throwing up. So I stopped taking it and 2 days later got my period for the 2nd time this months. So I was freaking out that I could be pregnant.

Had an appt with a doctor. I was not pregnant but the estrogen in the pill made me throw up and it also made things dry down there so it's easly irritated and causes a UTI.

So I am done with birth control pills. Men dont like condoms because they are uncomfortable. Condoms dont make them gain weight or throw up. Its dicomfort not pain. Birth control pills are not necessary. It's not a pill for high blood pressure or kidney failure. So why put yourself through that? Condoms it is from now on. If we get pregnant we'll get pregnant, it wouldn't be the end of world :)

I started on Ortho Tri Cyclen lo 4 1/2 years ago. About 3 months ago I went in to get my Ortho and was suddenly surprised by the low $7 charge since normally I pay $50(wonderful insurance). I was paying for the generic form(Tri-Sprintec) and for $7 I was all about it! Since taking it the only main side effect is HORRIBLE acne. I am 26 years old and have never experienced acne before. My general doc told me to finish out the month and switch back to Ortho. He wrote a letter to my insurance company explaining his concerns for my acne and asked them to cover the cost of not only Ortho Tri Cyclen lo but Doxocycline and Defferin. Two medications that he prescribed in hopes to clear my face. I have experienced larger ta-ta's too. Not that I'll complain about that one though. I've been an A my entire life....

I have been taking tri sprintec for 3 years now. It is the first and only birth control that I have taken and it has worked great for me up until now. In the beginning I didn't experience any side effects and it actually helped clear up the little bit of acne I did have. Suddenly, in the past week or so, I have been experiencing nausea, extreme fatigue, hunger, weight gain, and mild headaches. I can't figure out why it would work so well for 3 years and then suddenly cause me to experience side effects. Any ideas?

I just started taking tri-sprintec almost a month ago, my dr told me to start it, and I didn't have my period, i'm on the last week of the pill, and I still have not had my period. In the middle of the month, I had an accident..oops. This pill has given me headaches all the time, which I use to never get and made me have crazy mood swings. My old bc was loestrin, and that was fine. I was freaking thinking maybe I could be pregnant, but its only been two weeks since the last time I had unprotected sex, its way too soon for all these crazy signs, that I have expierenced the whole month! I don't know what to do!
