Male, 52. Since being on Lipitor over the last 4 years (3 have been at 20 mg/day) I noticed that I become very 'emotional' during movies and when reading. It's like someone turned on the 'flood gates' for even movies like Transformers and Gost Rider (trash kiddie films). I haven't stopped taking the product because I haven't felt any other of the listed side effects. Has anyone else had this type of effect????

have had a similar emotional instability but unsure if it is lipitor or other medications. When I stopped taking lipitor for 2 weeks, the situation seemed better but did not completely disappear.

Had and still having that side effect along with all the other problems associated with this drug. Looking back on it all, the emotional problems were the first noticeable change that occurred then over the course of the next year, the muscle cramps, weakness and other issues surfaced. I had been on 10 to 20 mg for just short of two years. I've now been off it for 5 months but the side affects are still with me.

Started having very emotional problems while watching movie's and even some t.v. commericals after taking lipitor (10mg )----didnot make the connection until I read your posting----have just started to get severe pain along my right knee and left thigh area---thought the emotional problem was due to old age----thanks for the enlightment.
