Yes, I have had this same problem. I realized that it does say on the prescription information that Yasmin can cause problems with contact lenses, it doesn't say why. So I think that it is a side effect of Yasmin specifically, and not all birth control pills. Prior to Yasmin I was on Monessa and had no problems with my contacts. I am considering switching brith control as well, but just filled another three-month prescription, so I will have to wait.
i've been on Yasmin for 8mths. and my contacts have been dry and iritate my eyes... i was trying not acknowledge it a a side-effect and i just keep putting eye drops, but after reading all these posts i think it prob. is from the pill...
My eyesite has become very blurry and I can't focus very well, I read on another site http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=1&mforum=yasminsideeffec sorry I don't have the exact link to the post, that one woman's eyeshape had completely been changed from round to a rugby shape.
I have been on Yasmin for two years and recently got contact lenses. They were very painful and stopped wearing them. I stopped using the birth control pill and tried my contacts one week later. I can wear them now with no problem.
I read that the birth control pill can can liquid retention in the cornea of the eye and change the shape of it, making it difficult to wear contact lenses. I read that this is due to the hormones in the birth control pill.
HA! Finally someone else with this same contact lense problem. I am calling Monday to get a new pill as Yasmin has made it impossible to wear contacts.
Thank Goodness for the Internet! Thanks for your posts
oh my gosh...your comment just made me realize why my contacts have been bothering me! i just switched to this brand and its been killing my eyes when i put contacts in.
is it because of the pills??
