Ive only been on Advair for almost a month. I couldn't believe how quickly my asthma disappeared. I was using my inhaler daily and tried other things but nothing helped. I went to a pulmonary specialist and prescribed Advair for a month. I'm so glad i have to go back and see him this Saturday b/c I want to tell him I will no longer take this. I'm 26 years old and had developed asthma when I was 7 years old. It went away when I was 14 and just came back full force 3 years ago. I would have tried anything to be able to breathe normally again. I've had the hoarseness in my voice and a bad cough where I'm spitting up mucus everyday since I've been on Advair. I figured if this was what I had to live with to have the chance to live a normal life asthma free that id take it, it wasn't so bad. But this past week I've had blinding headaches non-stop. Ive been nauseous, sweating, coughing, I've been sore like I just finished a long workout, chest pains, tightness in my chest and my legs have felt so weak. This morning I woke up with the worst cold too; which I know Advair weakens your immune system but this is crazy. I stopped taking Advair this morning & I'm going to tell my doctor I need to try something else.

I also had all those symptoms from taking Advair. It took just 4 days to have it hit me like that after I started taking it though. I have never been so sick in a long long time. You do need to go back to the doctor. Besides all those symptoms my blood pressure shot through the ceiling and I usually have normal blood pressure. It took me almost a month to feel better. The doctor thought it was a reaction to the sterioids. I told him I won't take anything with steriods again.
Good luck.

Advair had me getting pneumonia 3 X in 3 yrs. I was getting bruises constantly, even from just turning over in my sleep. I was dependant on it & God forbid I was without it. I went into the hosp. & they gave me one there, while I was in. It wound up costing me $490 for that one miserable disk! The medicare nor my insurance would cover it, as it was not a pill taken by mouth or IV. When I read up on this on this site, in Sept 2005, I was horrified by what I read. Also how many of the side affects the other's had that I had that were directly due to Advair. I had no idea. I am happy other's are finding this site & finding out.

I am off it. Will stay off it. On a nebulizer & puffers are Combivent & Pulmicort. 1 Theophylline 200mg a.m. & p.m. & when congested, 2 Mucinex twice daily. I am back bowling & all. Thank God.
